Personal Statement
Baseball has been a big part of my family. My Grandpa and Dad both played baseball at a high standard which was how I was introduced to the sport. I began playing tee ball at the local baseball field and ever since, I have fallen in love with the game along with forming strong friendships. It was not until junior league (U-14), where I started to notice major improvements in my game. This is where I started to form short-term and long-term goals. My short-term goal was to make the State team and my long-term goal was to ultimately make it to the MLB. The thought of college has evolved more recently and is now a goal that I am really focusing on achieving, as I would love to be part of a college with an excellent baseball and academic program along with a good group of people to allow me to reach my full potential
I feel that I would be an important contributor to a college team as I have been credited by my coaches as someone who is easy to coach, and importantly, someone who cares heavily for his teammates and coaching staff. I always enjoy being challenged and will be up to any challenge that a coach puts in front of me. I am always respectful of my teammates and coaches and bring both leadership and motivation in achieving common goals. With regards to these goals, on a personal nature that I strive to be the hardest working person I can be, which has resulted in not just personal success but ultimately team success. I am eager to bring these traits with me to the college level in order to not only get the best out of me, but from my teammates also.
Over my time playing baseball, I have received plenty of valuable advice which has assisted me in shaping who I am today as a person. I possess an array of characteristics that any ballclub or school would want - being friendly, respectful, and supportive to all my peers. In addition, my hard-working ethic also ensures I never take anything for granted.
Some personal achievements that I cherish most is representing my state at multiple national championships. Being selected in these State teams have brought an array of unforgettable experiences by competing with and against the best players of the country. I was fortunate enough to have built plenty of strong relationships with teammates as well as opposition who have also helped me become a better player. I have been able to showcase my numerous abilities and skills to a commendable level in front of many scouts and coaches. I ended one National championship with a top 5 batting average in the country, something that I am very proud of. Tournaments like these provide an exceptional realisation of how your abilities can take you to new places and meet new people. I desire to experience similar opportunities at College level in the future.
Along with sporting success, I also work extremely hard in keeping my school grades at a very high level, as my main goal in the classroom is to receive the highest marks in the class. At college I hope to study and receive a degree in sport science or astrophysics as I find they interest me the most.
In conclusion, I hope I can attend a college where I can display and apply all my characteristics and skills on not only the field, but in the classroom as well. I look forward to the challenge and will be looking to excel my learnings to not only bring out the best person I can be, but the best person my teammates can be.
